Why the Lack of a Formal Constitution Matters

Would a formal contract between the UK government and its citizens improve delivery? The answer is – greatly.

Constitutions may be boring but they determine how well governments perform, and for whom. Much of the poor performance of governments over the last 30 years can be traced back to the type of constitution we have. Change it for the better, and beneficial change in every public service, in laws and regulations, in decisions, will follow.
